The legal documents state that a detective for the L.A. Police Department's Threat Management Unit suggested that the actress get a restraining order against Thomas Brodnicki, 46. According to the papers, Brodnicki admitted to a mental health professional that he "entertained thoughts of killing Ms. Gomez."
According to the documents, Brodnicki has a history of mental illness, causing the authorities to take his threats "extremely seriously."
Selena's mother, step-father and assistant are also protected under the order.
